Jonah Lomu is arguably Counties Manukau Rugby’s most famous product, and the Union will pay tribute to the powerhouse winger with a specially released throwback jersey made by Classic Sports.

Lomu was the star of the 1995 NPC tournament as well as the 1995 Rugby World Cup where he announced himself to a global audience. The ex-Wesley College star would go on to become rugby’s first true global star and fans will remember his rampaging runs, many featuring the red, white and black of Counties Manukau.

CMRFU and Classic Sports have teamed up to produce a throwback design of the 1995-era Steelers jerseys, which the team will wear Friday 27 September at Navigation Homes Stadium when they take on Wellington.

They are sure to be a hit with Steelers fans and a nod to Lomu’s extraordinary legacy on and off the field.
